A Heart Full of Love- Les Miserables Teaser Trailer Released

After much ballyhooed casting choices, little screen stills here and there, and those paparazzi photos of a newly shorn Annie Hathaway, we're all going to finally get some kind of idea of what we're getting this Christmas in the much-anticipated screen adaptation of "Les Miserables" in the form of a teaser trailer.
Obviously it's full of stark and beautifully shabby period art direction and costumes, the faces of the cast (Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne etc) as well as stern-faced Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe, but we also get some singing.
Unlike the past few movie musicals first trailers, they don't seem to be hiding that it's a musical. We get to see the gaunt and dejected Fantine (Anne Hathaway) singing one of the show's greatest songs "I Dreamed A Dream."

Teaser after the jump

Director Tom Hooper has said in the past that he didn't plan on using any tracks and lip-synching in the film, but we'll see. I'm really loving the choice to make the song more lamenting than bombastic. And P.S. I've watched it three times now.

Are you excited based on these early snippets? Worried? Put your pros and cons in the comments.

  1. So this is my first time stopping by. I am excited for this even though I admit to never actually finishing the book..perhaps I should before it comes out (though I'm a book purist and generally don't like movie adaptations, so I don't know). BTW your Gone With The Wind header -- heck yeah! - Samar
